Wells storms back to capture Maine Class D high school football championship

Wells denied Foxcroft Academy a three-peat by coming back from a 21-0 deficit to capture the 2023 Maine Class D high school football championship.

With :19 seconds to in the game and trailing 21-14, Wells senior quarterback Brooks Fox hit Connor Whitten with a three-yard touchdown passes to close to 21-20. The Warriors then went for the win with Fox and Whitten connecting on a two-point conversion.
