West Linn avenged its only loss of the year to capture Oregon’s 6A high school football championship Saturday at Hillsboro Stadium outside of Portland. The Lions beat Lake Oswego, ranked No. 295 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, 44-30 to cap an 11-1 season.

Unlike West Linn’s 21-17 loss to the Lakers on October 18, the Lions jumped-out to a 24-0 lead in Saturday’s game. The Lions were led by junior Viggo Anderson, who rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Senior QB Baird Gilroy threw three touchdown passes to senior Danny Wideman.
