West Point cruised to a record 12th Mississippi high school football state championship. The Green Wave (11-3) beat Laurel 35-7 Thursday night for the state’s 5A title at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on the University of Mississippi campus.

WP entered the game tied with Louisville and South Panola with 11 state championships each. Louisville will try to tie West Point when it play Columbia in the 4A championship game on Saturday.
