West Virginia’s Super Six high school football championships are moving from Wheeling to Charleston this season. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission announced Thursday it is moving its four state championship games to the University of Charleston Stadium for at least the next three years.

Wheeling, which has hosted the state football championships since 1994, bid on keeping the Super Six, along with Bluefield.

This season will mark the first since the WVSSAC expanded from three to four classifications.
