Where EVERY Super Bowl MVP play high school football

gamestrat high school football sideline instant replay

In the first 56 Super Bowls, there have been 57 MVP’s.

Why 57?

In 1978, Harvey Martin and Randy White were named co-MVP in the Dallas Cowboys’ Super Bowl XXII victory.

Martin and White, a member of the 1994 Pro Football Hall of Fame, came from two completely different high school football states — Texas and Delaware. It doesn’t get much bigger than Texas high school football and Delaware, the first state in America, has less than 50 schools playing high school football.

As a senior, Martin led South Oak Cliff to the Dallas City Championship and a berth in the state quarterfinals. White, who played at McKean High, is still considered the best high school football player to come out of Delaware. In 1992, the school retired White’s No. 32 and named its football field after him.

When it comes to Super Bowl MVP’s, Serra High School in San Mateo, California has a lot to brag about. Alums Tom Brady and Lynn Swann give the Padres six MVP awards, with Brady winning five of them.

Thanks to Peyton and Eli Manning, Louisiana’s Isidore Newman can claim three Super Bowl MVP’s. Peyton is already enshrined in Canton and Eli, with two Rozelle awards, will be one day.

Thanks to Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana, Ringgold High in Pennsylvania has three MVP’s.

The Lincoln Hornets, who finished No. 43 in the 2022 High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, claims two MVP’s. Marcus Allen won the Super Bowl 18 MVP award for the Oakland Raiders and Terrell Davis won the MVP in Super Bowl 32 with the Denver Broncos.

Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks Bart Starr and Terry Bradshaw won two MVP’s each. Starr played scholastically at Sidney Lanier High School in Alabama. Bradshaw played at Woodland High in Shreveport, Louisiana.

California high school football leads the way with 14 MVP’s. Thanks to Bradshaw and the Mannings, Louisiana has six MVP’s, followed by Pennsylvania with five.
