For the seventh year in a row, the NCAA is allowing student-athletes to sign their National Letter of Intent prior to the annual signing day that occurs on the first Wednesday in February. Today through Friday, High School Football America is giving fans a close-up look at where the top players in America are signing their NLI’s during the Early Signing Period.

Below are the top players, according to On3.

We will be updating the list below as the players ink their commitments.

The national overall No. 1 prospect Jeremiah Smith stayed with his verbal commitment to Ohio State. The 6-3, 200-pound wide receiver closed-out his scholastic career by leading Chaminade-Madonna to another Florida state championship. The Lions finished No. 2 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

EDGE rusher Williams Nwaneri, the No. 2 prospect from Lee’s Summit North, is staying in-state. Wednesday morning, the 5-star prospect signed with the Missouri Tigers.

While Smith stuck with his verbal commitment, No. 13 KJ Bolden from Buford (Georgia) flipped from Florida State to Georgia. That was a win for Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart, but it was balanced off by Buford QB Dylan Raiola switching from UGA to Nebraska. Raiola is ranked as the No. 16 prospect.

Despite the loss of Raiola, Georgia still will have the top recruiting class. Smart landed 28 prospect, three of them are 5-star prospects. 19 of the recruits have 4-stars.

Following Georgia is Alabama, Ohio State, Miami (Florida) and Texas in the Top 5.
