OK, here we go!
Practice in helmets and shoulder pads begins in Arizona and Tennessee on Monday. Inspired, by a tweet by TexasHSFooball.com about whether California or Texas played the best school football, we thought it would be great to create an online contest allowing everyone to vote in a competitive format on our social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

What’s a competitive format?
We decided that we’d take the Top 8 states in the nation, according to our Preseason 100 and have them square-off in three rounds of voting to determine who’s the best.
We’re seeding the teams, according to our algorithm. Texas is the top seeded state, followed by No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Florida.
We’ll total the votes from every platform to decide who will advance to the next round.
Here are the first round match-ups with voting starting Monday and running through Tuesday.
No. 1 Texas vs. No. 8 Alabama
No. 4 California vs. No. 5 Ohio
No. 3 Georgia vs. 6 No. Louisiana
No. 2 Florida vs. No. 7 New Jersey
The winners will advance to the semifinals that begin Wednesday. The finals are set for next weekend starting on Friday.
