Who, What, When and Where for the Texas high school football state semifinals

It’s time to set the matchups for the University Interscholastic League’s state championship that will be played at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys December 15-18, 2021. The state semifinals will be played this week across the state.

Thirteen teams in the High School Football America national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, will be in action.

In Class 6A Division I, No. 3 Southlake Carroll will clash with No. 25 Duncanville. The winner of that one gets the winner of the game between No. 33 North Shore and No. 41 Lake Travis.

No. 2 Westlake will continue its road to a third straight Texas high school championship when it plays No. 5 Katy in the Class 6A Division II bracket. On the other side of the bracket is No. 37 Denton Guyer facing Tomball, which is honorable mention in our national rankings, which puts them between No. 201 and No. 300.

Class 5A Division I features No. 78 College Station facing honorable mention Mansfield Summit. In the other semi, Katy Paetow takes-on Flour Bluff. Both of those teams are outside of our Top 300.

In 5A Division II, No. 66 South Oak Cliff will meet No. 190 Lubbock Cooper. That will winner gets the winner of Crosby and Liberty Hill.

Class 6A Division I

State Semifinals

  • Duncanville (12-1) vs Southlake Carroll (14-0), 4 p.m. Saturday at McKinney ISD Stadium
  • Galena Park North Shore (13-1) vs Lake Travis (12-2), 3 p.m. Saturday at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex (Round Rock)

Class 6A Division II

State Semifinals

  • Denton Guyer (13-1) vs. Tomball (11-3), 7 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium
  • Katy (14-0) vs Austin Westlake (14-0), 2 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium

Class 5A Division I

State Semifinals

  • Mansfield Summit (11-3) vs College Station (14-0), 7 p.m. Friday at Hewitt Panther Stadium
  • Katy Paetow (13-1) vs CC Flour Bluff (12-2), 7 p.m. Friday at San Antonio – Heroes Stadium

Class 5A Division II

State Semifinals

  • Dallas South Oak Cliff (12-1) vs Lubbock Cooper (13-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday at Abilene Shotwell Stadium
