Marquette University High School is back at the top of the High School Football America Wisconsin Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. After losing its opener to Arrowhead, the Hilltoppers fell from their preseason No. 1 perch.
This week, the defending Division 1 champ return to the top spot. Next up is a quarterfinal matchup against unranked Bay Port.
The reason, MU was able to take over the top spot was because former No. 1 Franklin lost for the first time this year. The Sabers were beaten by former No. 9 Muskego 42-14 in the second round of the Division 1 postseason.
The loss drops from Franklin four spots to No. 5. Muskego, which plays No. 10 Neenah in the Division 1 quarters this week, moves up to No. 4.
Neenah makes its first appearance of the year in the Top 10 after beating former No. 5 Kimberly. It was the second time this year that Neenah beat the Papermakers.
In another Division 1 quarterfinal, No. 2 Mukwonago and No. 3 Arrowhead will meet for the second time this year on Friday. Back on September 6, Arrowhead beat the Indians 29-28.
In Division 2, No. 6 Slinger faces No. 7 Homestead, which is coming off a 21-14 win over No. 8 Germantown.
