Xavier tops 3-time defending champ Pella for Iowa 3A title

For the first time since 2006, Xavier is a state champion in football and they beat three-time state champ Pella to claim the state’s 3A crown. The Saints captured the title Thursday with a 31-13 win at the UNI-Dome.

Pella entered the game ranked No. 3 in the latest High School Football America Iowa Top 5, while Xavier was No. 4. Look for that to change when the final Top 5 is released on Saturday.
