Attendance for the University Interscholastic League Texas high school football championships, continues to drop.
Overall, 166,644 fans attended the twelve games at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Of course, Saturday’s three games were impacted by the University of Texas home college football playoff game against Tennessee in Austin and SMU being on the road against Penn State.
The ten 11-man games attracted 159,560 fans, well below the 193,776 that attended the 2023 11-man championships in the NFL Stadium. Except for the 2020 COVID pandemic season, attendance for the 11-man title games was above 200,000 between 2016 and 2023.
In ’22, 211,337 fans watched the ten 11-man games.
