In 3A, Damascus shutout Linganore 38-0 to win the school’s 11th overall high school football state championship. Let by the nation’s overall No. 1 college football recruit Ryan Bresee, Damascus collected its fourth state title in five years.
Bresee, who plays defensive tackle, and the Damascus defense was outstanding, limiting Linganore to 66 yards in total offense. .
Middletown captured the state’s 2A state crown with a 35-14 win over Potomac, and in 1A, Catoctin beat Dunbar 31-8.
