The first day of high school football practice for the 2022 in the Keystone State is August 15, which comes after a week of heat acclimatization.
The upcoming season will mark the first time since 1998 that the Pennsylvania high school football season won’t end at HersheyPark Stadium. Earlier this year, state officials announced that Cumberland Valley High School will host the six state title games for the four years.
2022 Pennsylvania High School Football Calendar
- First Practice — August 15
- First Games — August 26
- Playoffs Begin — November 18
- Championships — December 8-10 at Cumberland Valley High School
There will be plenty of storylines to follow this season. Reigning 2A champ Southern Columbia will try to set a record for consecutive state championships. The Tigers have currently won five-in-a-row, which equals the five they won between 2002 and 2006.
In 3A, Center Valley will be going for its third straight title in 2022.
