Huntington won its first-ever West Virginia high school football championship Saturday with a 28-3 win over Parkersburg South. The Highlanders held the Patriots 49 points under its season average. Parkersburg South entered the game average 52 points a game.

Independence finished a perfect 2022 with a 42-7 win over Herbert Hoover in the Class AA championship game at Wheeling Island Stadium.
Running back Judah Price had a huge game with four touchdowns. He ran for 376 yards on 32 carries.
