New name, but the same great way to open the 2023 Georgia high school football season.
This year’s Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic features eleven games over four days. Eight teams that are in the Preseason High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, will be in action.

West Forsyth 40, Cherokee Bluff 7
Sophomore quarterback Max Walraven tossed two touchdown passes. West Forsyth jumped out to the early lead when Topher Delp returned the opening kickoff 90 yards. Foster Orris carried the ball five times for 136 yards and two scores.
Archer 35, North Forsyth 16
Elijah Seaney completed 18-of-35 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns as Archer opened with a season opening for the first time since 2019.

No. 217 Parkview 43, Kell 24
Parkview roared to a 36-7 halftime lead against Kell. According to Georgia High School Football Daily, “Antonio White had four tackles for losses. Jeremy Johnson had 3.5, and Mysean Nesbitt had three. AJC Super 11 WR Mike Matthews had three receptions for 70 yards and three solo tackles.”

North Atlanta 58, Johns Creek 14
North Atlanta, coming off its first-ever playoff victory last year, led 51-7. GHSFD reports, “North Atlanta’s Demeitrus Barnes rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Ian Reynolds was 7-of-7 passing for 163 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.”
