On September 4, 2004, the Bellevue Wolverines shocked the high school football world by snapping De La Salle’s amazing 151-game win streak. The Washington school beat the Spartans 39-20 before nearly 25,000 fans at Qwest Field, the home of the National Football League‘s Seattle Seahawks.

De La Salle’s incredible streak began in 1992 and resulted in a film called When the Game Stands Tall.

To celebrate the streak and the 20th anniversary of Bellevue’s win, Jeff Fisher spoke with former Wolverine head coach Butch Goncharoff about his memories from that momentous night.
