New Jersey’s West Orange had an outstanding weekend at the fifth annual New York Jets Nike 11-On tournament at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. The Mountaineers won the 7-on-7 passing tournament and the Linemen Challenge in the event that featured 40 high school football Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

In the 7-on-7 championship, West Orange beat Butler (New Jersey) 24-15. Bucknell-recruit Charlie LaMorte connected with Syracuse verbal commit Terrell Wilfong on three touchdown passes.

In the Linemen Challenge, West Orange beat Newark East Side and Hillside in their tug-of-war matchups.
The challenge consisted of strength, agility, and skill based competitions.

For its win, West Orange will be recognized on-field during the New York Jets preseason game against
the Washington Commanders on August 10 in the Jets designated Play Football game, which celebrates youth football on all levels.

“The New York Jets are proud to contribute to giving young athletes the opportunity to compete in what we believe to be the best sport in the world,” explained Jets Community Relations Senior Manager Elijah Hodges. “Through 11-ON and other programs we look forward to continuing to support our community playing football.”

All teams were invited to participate free of charge and participants received a pair of Jets branded shorts and Jets 11- ON shirts, courtesy of Nike.
