For the second time in three weeks, Florida is having to deal with a major hurricane. With Hurricane Milton expected to hit landfall, possible in the Tampa-area, between late Wednesday and early Thursday, Polk County Schools have cancelled all of this week’s high school football games and other sports.
The postponements include games involving nationally-ranked teams like Lakeland, No. 15 in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, and No. 176 Lake Wales, who was scheduled to play No. 40 Jones (Orlando) on Thursday.
Under Florida High School Athletic Association rules, all district games must be made-up.
