Downingtown West moves up seven spots in the latest High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Whippets make the move after beating former No. 10 North Penn 35-16 to advance to the 6A state semifinals. The loss drops the Knights to No. 13 in our statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Next up for Downingtown West is a date with two-time reigning 6A champ St. Joseph’s Prep. In addition to being No. 1 in PA, SJP is also highly-ranked in our national rankings.
On the other side of the 6A bracket, No. 7 Pittsburgh Central Catholic will face No. 9 Harrisburg.
Harrisburg’s Bishop McDevitt moves up five spots to No. 11 in this week’s Top 25. This week, the Crusaders, whose two losses have been by a combined five points, play No. 6 Pine-Richland in one 5A state semifinal.
They winner of that one faces the winner of the battle between No. 4 Roman Catholic and No. 12 West Chester Bayard Rustin.
