The Green Bay Packers have selected Winneconne High School standout Brody Schaffer to participate in the Nike ‘The Next Ones’ program, a collaboration between Nike and the NFL to showcase and develop some of the nation’s best high school football players.

During the week of the Super Bowl, Schaffer will compete in a skills challenge against 31 other top players from across the country – each representing an NFL club – and one international athlete selected for the program. He will also have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes action ahead of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

“We are thrilled to have Brody represent the Packers at this exclusive athletic event,” said Packers Football Outreach Manager Ryan Fencl. “His hard work and determination are evident both on the field and in the classroom. We are excited to be part of his journey as he joins an elite group of up-and-coming athletes.”

A junior at Winneconne High School in Winneconne, Wis., Schaffer helped lead the Wolves to a Bay Conference championship and an appearance in the WIAA Division 4 state semi-final game. Playing quarterback and defensive back, Schaffer contributed on both sides of the ball, racking up 4,063 all-purpose yards, 48 total touchdowns, 54 tackles and four interceptions during his junior campaign. He earned first-team All-Conference and All-Region honors as a quarterback and defensive back and was named a finalist for the Wisconsin Player of the Year award. Off the field, Schaffer maintains a 4.0 GPA.

“I am incredibly blessed and truly grateful for the opportunity to represent the Green Bay Packers at Nike’s ‘The Next Ones’ event in New Orleans,” said Schaffer. “Being 1 of 33 players selected is an amazing opportunity. I cannot wait to get out there and compete. Not only am I honored to represent the Packers, but I am also grateful to be able to represent the Winneconne community and the great state of Wisconsin.”
