Two teams in the High School Football America/SoCal Top 25 — #12 La Habra and #25 San Clemente — will square-off CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division (IV) championship Friday night.
La Habra (12-1) enters its first CIF-SS championship game since 2010 with only a loss to #3 Mission Viejo this season. Since then, the Highlanders have reeled-off 10 straight wins. La Habra’s defense has been strong all season, allowing ten points a game.
San Clemente has scored 615 points this season with junior quarterback Jack Sears at the helm. Sears has completed over 71% of his passes (180-of-252) for 2,599 yards with 35 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Sears has also rushed for 718 yards with eight touchdowns.
San Clemente is looking for its first CIF-SS title, while La Habra is looking for its seventh overall title.
