All three of the 2015 Alaska high school football state champs are back to defending their titles. The 2016 Alaska high school football postseason begins this weekend.
Defending Large Schools champ West opens defense of its title against Colony. The Eagles, who have won three state titles in six years, bring a 5-3 record into the state quarterfinal match-up. All three losses came to teams currently ranked in the High School Football America Alaska Top 5 — #1 Soldotna, #2 Bartlett and #4 East.

Four-time Medium Schools defending champ Soldotna opens against North Pole in the state semifinals. The Stars own a 47 game win streak, the second longest active streak in America.

Eielson will be looking for its third straight Small Schools state title. The Ravens will open against Nikiski, the same team they beat in the last two state championship games.
