Utah’s East High School, which won the state’s Class 4A title over the weekend, vaulted over two teams into #2 in the latest High School Football America Mountain Top 10 that is created with our proprietary algorithm. East and Liberty from Nevada are neck-and-neck at #2 and #3. Both have played and beaten quality out-of-state opponents, which will help them both in their strength of schedules over the next couple of weeks, if those opponents continue a deep march into the postseason.
New to the Top 10 this week — Regis Jesuit (Colorado) at #7 and Damonte Ranch (Nevada) at #10. Both of those teams face Top 10 opponents this week in their respective state semifinals. Regis Jesuit plays #5 Pomona in the Colorado Class 5A semis, while Damonte Ranch plays #3 Liberty in the Nevada 4A semis. In all likelihood, the Liberty/Damonte Ranch winner will get Bishop Gorman, the #1 team in America. Gorman plays #9 Arbor View in the state semis.
