St. Ignatius legendary head football coach Chuck Kyle is going out on a high note. A week before Christmas, the Cleveland Browns honored Coach Kyle as their High School Coach of the Year.
The 72-year-old was honored along with nine other 2022 Browns HS Coach of the Week winners at FirstEnergy Stadium prior to the Browns game against the Baltimore Ravens. For the honor, he is now a finalist for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award along with a $4,000 check to benefit his team.

In 40 seasons at the head of the Wildcats’ program, Kyle won 377 games and 11 state championships.
This year, St. Ignatius finished 8-4, ranked No. 123 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
The winner of the Shula Award will be announced in January. The winner earns another $15,000 for their school as well as a $12,500 personal award.
