According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Brett Garvin is leaving Sandy Creek after leading the school to the 2022 Georgia 3A high school football championship and a No. 115 ranking in the High School Football 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
Garvin was 48-19 in his six years as head coach. He’s been part of the program since 2001.
Sandy Creek’s 3A championship win over Cedar Grove was controversial. A replay showed that the runner on the winning touchdown never reached the end zone, which is causing the Georgia High School Association to evaluate using instant replay in the 2023 state championships.
