Clay-Chalkville moves from No. 3 to No. 2 this week after beating No. 4 Thompson 14-13 in overtime.
Heading into this week, Carver Montgomery is in a three-way tie atop 7A Region 2 with a 3-0 record with No. 1 Central (Phenix City) and No. 7 Enterprise. Friday, Carver plays Enterprise and Central plays Auburn in a battle of unbeatens.
First place will be on the line in 7A Region 3 Friday night when No. 4 Thompson plays No. 5 Hewitt-Trussville. Thompson is 3-0 in region play, while H-T is 2-1.
