The head of the Bishop Gorman football program will still be known as Coach Sanchez. Earlier this week, the Las Vegas school announced that defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Kenny Sanchez will be the Gaels new head coach, replacing his brother Tony, who left to become the head coach at UNLV.
The two brothers worked hand-in-hand over the last six seasons that saw Bishop Gorman finish with an 85-5 record with six straight state titles. The Las Vegas Sun reports that under Kenny’s direction, the Gaels allowed an average of 11.6 points per game since he took over as defensive coordinator in 2009.
This past season, Gorman finished #3 in the nation in High School Football America’s final Top 25. The Gaels finished tied for #1 in our 2014 Media Compilation Poll.
