For the second straight week, two Top 10 teams in the High School Football America Top 100 tasted defeat. Former No. 5 St. Xavier (Ohio) was beaten by No. 38 St. Ignatius (Ohio) and No. 8 Miami Central lost to former No. 38 Northwestern in South Florida.
Northwestern jumps 27 spots with the 21-7 win to No. 11 in the latest rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm, while Central falls to No. 12.
St. Ignatius, which dropped from No. 9 to No. 38 last week after losing to Archbishop Moeller (Ohio), rebounds to No. 25 after beating St. X 28-14 in a rematch of the 2016 Ohio Division I state championship game won by St. X in double-overtime. St. Xavier falls from No. 5 to No. 26 in the new ranking.
Next-up for St. Igantius is arch-rival No. 18 St. Edward (Ohio).

The St. Ignatius/St. Ed game is one of six head-to-head match-ups next weekend in the Top 100.
In Texas, DeSoto, which climbs a spot to No. 5 this week, takes-on No. 77 Duncanville in a battle of unbeatens.
In Indiana, in the first round of the 6A playoffs, No. 9 Ben Davis will square-off with No. 97 Lawrence Central. The Giants beat LC 42-7 during the regular season.
In Florida, No. 12 Miami Central faces No. 71 Carol City, which moved-up ten spots this week.
In the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, No. 86 Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) squares-off with No. 88 Good Counsel (Maryland.)
The final inner-Top 100 game will be in New Jersey where No. 47 DePaul Catholic takes-on No. 99 Pope John XXIII, which lost a 20-19 decision to No. 31 Bergen Catholic on Saturday.
New to the rankings this week is Miami Columbus (Florida) at No. 95 and Folsom (California) at No. 96.
Dropping-out are Colquitt County (Georgia) and DeMatha (Maryland).
