Benjamin opened the 2022 Texas high school football championships with an impressive 68-20 win over Loraine in the Class 1A Division II 6-man state title game at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Grayson Rigdon was the star of the game with 255 yards rushing and five touchdowns. He averaged 25.5 yards per carry. leading him being named the game’s Most Valuable Player award.

Ironically, Rigdon, a sophomore, won the MVP award last year after leading Strawn to a state championship.
