Bixby made a major statement in its first-ever Oklahoma Class 6A-I football championship game against Owasso. The Spartans blew-out the Rams 69-6 for their seventh title in the last eight years.
The 63-point win was one shy of the state record in a championship game. In 2015, Adair beat Haskell by 64 points.
The win caps another impressive season for Bixby, which did see its 58-game win streak come to an end in November. After losing to Jenks in its season finale, the Spartans bounced back two week later, beating Jenks 28-14 in the state semifinals.
Bixby finishes 12-1 with a 58.6 average margin of victory in the dozen victories.
