Byron routs Mt. Carmel to win back-to-back Illinois 3A high school football championships

Byron (14-0) rushed for 530 yards in a 69-7 win over Mt. Carmel in the Illinois 3A state championship game Friday at Illinois State University. It is the largest margin of victory in a state championship game and the most points ever scored in a 3A title game.

Byron now owns back-to-back titles. The Tigers have now played in four of the last five 3A championship games.
