Mater Dei now controls its own destiny as it relates to the Trinity League, the top spot in the California Top 25 and a possible fifth national championship. Friday, the Monarchs destroyed No. 2 St. John Bosco 59-14, which gives them a piece of the Trinity League. MD can wrap-up the outright title this week when it plays No. 3 Orange Lutheran to close-out its regular season.

No. 2 Bosco will try to get back into the win column this week against No. 8 JSerra.

Up north, No. 23 St. Francis (Mountain View) takes the lead in the West Coast Athletic Conference after beating St. Ignatius College Prep 49-24. The win moves the Lancers from No. 24 to No. 23.
