California Top 25 high school football rankings - Week 16

Pittsburg moves up six spots in the penultimate 2024 High School Football America California Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Pirates sit at No. 7 after edging Folsom 28-27 to advance to the Division 1-AA state championship game. The loss drops Folsom from No. 7 to No. 8 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

In the state championship game, Pittsburg will play No. 13 Lincoln (San Diego) Friday at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.

The HSFA national championship will be decided Saturday at Saddleback when No. 1 Mater Dei plays No. 6 De La Salle for the CIF Open Division championship. MD is looking for its fifth overall HSFA national title since 2017 and its second straight.

The CIF Division 1-A champ is also a Top 25 head-to-head matchup with No. 19 Edison (Huntington Beach) playing No. 20 Central (Fresno).

The seventh Top 25 team playing for a state crown is Grant (Sacramento). The Pacers will play unranked Pacifica from Oxnard.
