Celina breaks 17-year Texas high school football championship drought

It took Celina 17-years, but the Bobcats now own nine overall Texas high school football championships. Friday, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, Celina beat Kilgore 55-21 to capture the Class 4A Division I state championship.

The nine state titles put Celina third on the all-time list, tied with Katy. Aledo has the most with 12. Carthage is second after winning its 10th earlier on Friday. Richland Springs leads 6-man with nine titles.
