The first in-season High School Football America Arizona Top 10 is out and defending Open Division champ Chandler is on top. The Wolves opened the season with a 44-10 win over Peoria Liberty.

Right behind Chandler at No. 2 is Saguaro, the team the Wolves beat for the state’s first-ever Open Division title in 2019. The Sabercats’ game last week against Chaparral was canceled after one of Chaparral’s players tested positive for COVID-19.
No. 7 Chaparral is sidelined again this week during its quarantine. If the Firebirds don’t have anymore positive tests, the will open the season next week against No. 3 Hamilton.
This week, No. 5 Salpointe Catholic has been sidelined for two weeks after a player was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Friday night, No. 1 Chandler hosts No. 4 Pinnacle in one of two Top 10 head-to-head matchups. In the other intra-Top 10 game, No. 6 Queen Creek takes-on No. 10 Williams Field.
The top three teams in the statewide rankings are also ranked in the High School Football America 100 national rankings. Chandler leads the way at No. 29, Saguaro is ranked No. 47 and Hamilton is No. 74.
