What a 2015 season it was for a lot Southern California high school football teams.
The curtain fell on the season Saturday night with De La Salle‘s 28-21 win over top-ranked Corona Centennial for the state’s Open Division championship, but that seven-point loss to the Spartans, who finished #2 in the nation in our national rankings, didn’t move the Huskies out of the top spot in the final High School Football America/SoCal Top 25.

Corona Centennial finishes #1 for the 2015 season thanks to its win over #2 St. John Bosco in the CIF-Southern Section Pac 5 championship game. Falling-in right behind those two is Mission Viejo, which won the state’s Division I-AA championship with an impressive win over Bellarmine on Friday.
All three of the aforementioned teams finished the season in our national Top 25 rankings — Corona Centennial #5, St. John Bosco #8 and Mission Viejo #14. The rankings for all of our national, state and regional polls are developed using our proprietary algorithm.
Mission Viejo was one of four local teams to win state titles over the weekend.
