Council Rock North’s (PA) Brandon McIlwain wins Maxwell Football Club’s Jim Henry Award

South Carolina-bound Brandon McIlwain from Council Rock North High School is the winner of this year’s Jim Henry Award presented by the Maxwell Football Club.  The award is given annually to the best high school football player in New Jersey and Pennsylvania based upon a student’s academics as well as contributions to school and community.

McIlwain, who will played football and baseball at South Carolina, threw for 1,720 yards and 18 touchdowns despite suffering a separated shoulder in Week 4 and fracturing the thumb on his throwing hand in Week 6.  He also rushed for 1,545 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, according to EasternPAFootball.com.  In his career he threw for 6,545 yards and 54 touchdowns and rushed for 3,882 yards and 70 touchdowns.

McIlwain, who participated in the 2015 Elite 11 quarterback competition, will be honored at the organization’s annual gala in March in Atlantic City.
