Davon Godchaux meets with players from his high school alma mater after trade to the New Orleans Saints

Less than a week after being traded from the New England Patriots to the New Orleans Saints, defensive tackle Davon Godchaux got a visit from high school players from alma mater, Plaquemine High.

After his introductory news conference with local media, Godchaux met with several Plaquemine players and talked about the importance of education.

Godchaux was a 4-star college football prospect at Plaquemine. He was a Class 4A All-State player after his junior year when he recorded 60 tackles with 4.5 sacks. He miss most of his junior season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his season opener.

According to a story from the Saints, “Godchaux has been a run-stuffer in the NFL, with 429 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in his first eight seasons.”
