No surprise that five-time High School Football America national champ Mater Dei is the No. 1 team in our final 2024 California Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
As far as the rest of the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm, San Diego’s Lincoln makes a big move in the final Top 25. The Hornets, winners of the Division 1-AA championship, move up six spots to finish the year at No. 7.
Lincoln is led by head coach David Dunn, who played wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders during his seven-year National Football League career.
Lincoln was led by quarterback Akili Smith, Jr., son of former NFL QB Akili Smith, Sr., who was an assistant on the Hornets’ staff.
Below is the final Top 25.
