Hough tumbles to No. 6 after dropping a 24-9 loss to Byrnes (South Carolina). Butler drops to No. 10 after a 21-19 loss to Rolesville, which brings the Rams into the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Next up for Rolesville is No. 2 Grimsley.
Top-ranked Providence Day opened with an impressive 42-35 win over nationally-ranked Northwestern (South Carolina). The game was the first-ever high school football game played at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.
No. 3 Mallard Creek will get a big national test this week when the Mavericks host Georgia’s Buford, ranked No. 4 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings. MC is ranked No. 143 nationally.
