Four teams will be on Alabama high school football’s centerstage next weekend when the Cramton Bowl plays host to the 2024 AHSAA Kickoff Classic hosted by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association.
The 19th annual kickoff classic starts next Thursday with Reeltown, the 2023 Class 2A state runner-up, facing T.R. Miller. On Friday, Vestavia Hills squares-off with Carver Montgomery.
“We are thrilled to have these two matchups involving four great programs steeped in tradition,” said Brandon Dean, Director of the AHSADCA. “We appreciate the administration and coaches of each school for allowing us to highlight their programs here in Montgomery. As always, we thank Mayor Steven Reed and the City of Montgomery for their continued support of this event.”

According to a AHSAA news release, the first matchup between Reeltown and T.R. Miller puts together two of the best “small school” programs in the state. T.R. Miller is currently tied with Oneonta with the most football wins (726) in AHSAA history.
Vestavia Hills starts just outside of the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Rebels are coming off a 9-3 season and a No. 226 ranking in the final 2023 HSFA 300.
Carver-Montgomery is coming off a 7-4 season.
