11-year NFL pro Chad Pennington is in charge of restarting the Sayre School football program in Kentucky. Kentucky.com is reporting that Pennington, who played for the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, will start the program this year with a freshman and junior varsity team.
“I am beyond excited to partner with the Sayre community concerning the football program,” said Pennington in the email sent to parents. “The game of football is a perfect platform to assist in developing our student-athletes in every aspect of their lives.”
Sayre hasn’t had a football program since the 70’s.
I played on the last team at Sayre 1976. Below is the ‘75 team we finished 5-4. I’m fifth from the right 2nd row #75. #11 Vaughn Gott is Trevor Gott’s father and #35 Johnny Flynn is Cameron Flynn’s. #40 Anthony Cuellar returned punts and kickoffs at UK under Curci. pic.twitter.com/4TgnB2fYv3
