After two years as the head football coach at Lakewood, Jimmy Nolan is moving-on to Fountain Valley. Nolan, who went 10-12 at Lakewood, has accepted the head coaching job at Fountain Valley earlier this week.
This will be Nolan’s sixth head coaching job. He’s previous been the head guy at Cantwell Sacred Heart, Carson, Compton Centennial and Laguna Beach.
Nolan’s hiring comes about a month after Justin Schaeffer stepped-down as the head football coach of the Barons. Schaeffer quit just two months after accepting the school’s head coaching job.
Schaeffer took-over for Ray Fenton, who left to become the head coach at Los Alamitos. In six seasons as the head coach at Murrieta Mesa, Schaeffer was 26-34.
Nolan played at Mater Dei and then at the University of Utah.
