After runner-up finishes in 2019 and 2021, Frederick Douglass High School can finally call itself Kentucky high school football champs. Douglass beat Bowling Green 28-7 in the 5A championship game at Kroger Field at the University of Kentucky. The victory caps a perfect 15-0 season for the Broncos.
After a 7-7 tie at the half, the Douglass defense played an incredible second half, allowing Bowling Green only seven yards of total offense.
The title comes in the school’s sixth year of existence.
