The Georgia High School Association is changing the road to the 2024 high school football championships at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons.
The GHSA has announced that this year’s seven boys’ tackle football title games will be played December 16-18. And, because of the late date, the state’s governing body has decided not to play any playoff games Thanksgiving weekend.
The week off means that teams that advance to the state semifinals will have an extra week to get ready for their Final Four matchup.
It also means that the semis won’t conflict with the Georgia/Georgia Tech game on Friday, November 29.

1st Round: November 8-9
2nd Round: November 15
Quarterfinals: November 22
Semifinals: December 6
Finals: December 16-18
