With the completion date for Mercedes-Benz Stadium pushed until August 26th, officials of the Corky Kell Classic have decided to play the Friday and Saturday games at Georgia State’s new football field. Georgia State is currently converting Turner Field, the former home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves, into a 23,000 seat football stadium.
When the Georgia Dome opened in 1992, the Corky Kell games were the first sporting events ever played in the stadium.
