Richmond Randle is celebrating its first Texas high school football championship after surprising No. 99 South Oak Cliff 38-35 in the Class 5A Division II championship game at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. SOC was playing in its fourth straight state championship.

Randle got off to a 14-0 lead, starting with a 90-yard kickoff return by Sincere Thompson to open the game.

The game came down to the final play when SOC, looking for its third state title in four years, missed a FG.

Richmond Randle finishes a perfect 16-0. The Lions will also make their first-ever appearance in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, when the final 2024 Top 300 is released on Sunday.
