We’re down to the quarterfinal round of the 2017 postseason and Trinity remains the top team in the High School Football America Kentucky Top 10 with a shot at a possible “mythical” national championship. The Shamrocks are currently No. 4 in the High School Football America Top 100, with a new set national rankings coming-out Sunday.
There will be two head-to-head Top 10 match-ups in the 6A quarters. Trinity will face No. 7 Simon Kenton, while No. 2 St. Xavier goes against No. 8 Butler, which enters the rankings for the first time this week after beating former No. 5 Male. The Bulldogs fall to No. 9.
Also new to the Top 10 this week is South Warren, which plays No. 5 Bowling Green in the 5A quarterfinals. Bowling Green is the classification’s two-time defending state champs with five titles in the last six years.
