While we use a proprietary algorithm to create all of our national, regional and local rankings, the argument of who is the team team in the California should be decided on the next month.
Barring upsets, #1 St. John Bosco, #2 Corona Centennial and #3 De La Salle are on a collision course in the state’s Open Division. De La Salle is likely to be the state’s northern representative, while Bosco and Centennial should meet in two weeks the the CIF-Southern Section Pac-5 final.
The new rankings released on Sunday have quite a bit of shuffling with Mater Dei moving back into the Top 5 after its win over former #6 Gardena Serra.
We also welcome four new teams into the rankings with Rancho Cucamonga soaring into the Top 25 at #14 after upsetting former #14 Tesoro on Friday. The other two new teams are Oak Ridge at #24 and Modesto Central Catholic at #25.
