The Illinois High School Association is requesting bids to host its high school football championships for five years, starting with the 2023 title games.
For the past ten years, the IHSA football championships have been alternating between the University of Illinois in Champaign and North Illinois University in DeKalb. Since the bid specs state that the IHSA is “seeking a host for its Boys Football State Finals for the 5-year period from 2023-24 through 2027-28,” it’s likely the bid will be awarded to one site.

Another requirement is that the host must have a facility with a seating capacity of more than 12,000.
Bids will be accepted through September 2.
